Nina founded Saltbox in May 2011 and has over 25 years of experience in project finance, largely focused on power generation. Nina’s vision for Saltbox – to fill gaps she perceived in the market and to efficiently add value for clients – remains true and has led to the Company’s involvement in over 14 and 36 assignments. Saltbox continues to evolve as each new opportunity in some way informs the next.

Nina has a wide range of experience and deep resources, an ability to step back and see the forest for the trees, and a candor that clients find refreshing. Her track record includes bank, bond and B Loan structures. In addition to traditional project finance, her background includes acquisition financings, hybrid corporate / project finance structures and export credit covered transactions.

Prior to launching Saltbox, Nina spent over 18 years in project finance at Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, one of the leading banks in the sector. Nina was a Managing Director leading a team responsible for originating, structuring and executing transactions across the power generation spectrum mainly in the U.S. for a core group of clients.  Between 2000 and 2011 Nina has played a leading role in more than 40 financings totaling around $11 billion in the bank market and 11 financings in excess of $4 billion in the project bond / private placement market.

Nina received her MBA from Columbia University.

Charles-Henry has been with Saltbox since the beginning. He has over 14 years of experience in the banking sector and has worked with Nina since moving to New York to start his project finance career at Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank where he was involved in the origination, structuring and execution of 15 financings of over $5 billion. Previously Charles-Henry was an analyst in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at Lazard Freres & Co. in Paris.

Charles-Henry is a true practitioner who enjoys all the intricacies of non-recourse financings, and the challenges of bringing new deal profiles and sponsors to market. His experience has spanned financing coal mining development to the introduction of renewable power in South Africa. In conjunction with Saltbox’s work on Phase 1 of this landmark program, Charles-Henry wrote an article about this long awaited initiative by the South African government.

He is a graduate of Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP) Business School.
